 General Terms & Conditions - All prices quoted and payable in NZ dollars.
- Rates include unlimited kilometers and GST.
- Freshly laundered linen and all cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery are supplied.
- Neither Smoking nor pets are permitted in the campervans.
- Hirer and driver must be over 25 years of age and produce a valid driver’s license. New Zealand recognizes driver’s licenses issued by your own country, as well as International driver’s licenses
Daily Hire Charges - Rental days are calculated on a calendar basis. Part days at the start or end of hire are charged at the daily rate. The day of pick-up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of the pick-up time. The day the Vehicle is returned is counted as the final full day of the rental regardless of return time.
- Late pick up or early return of the Vehicle does not entitle the Hirer to any refund of the unused portion of the rental. Pick up and drop off times are to be agreed prior to collection.
- If a vehicle is returned later than the agreed time on the final hire day you will be charged an additional day’s hire. Each day after the final hire day, that the vehicle is not returned, you will be charged an additional day’s hire as well as a fifty dollar penalty per day.

Bookings & Deposit - A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking. This is part of your hire charge with the balance due on pick up of vehicle. Preferred payments are Visa or MasterCard, cash, or bank deposit
Fuel - All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel at the start of hire, and must be returned with a full tank at the end of your hire otherwise a refueling fee will apply.
Roadside Assistance - AA Nationwide 24 hour free call helpline are there should you require assistance. If you incur any minor repair bills (but not for damage as a result of unauthorized use) we will give you a refund (up to NZ$100). Just produce receipts. If major repairs are needed, protect yourself by getting us to authorize it first.

Mechanical repairs and accidents - Our liability extends only to refund of rental charges for any days of total loss of vehicle usage caused by a mechanical breakdown or accident.
Insurance - You are fully insured in case of accident damage or loss of contents (excluding personal belongings). There is an excess/deductible of NZ$2000. This covers the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle
Bond - A $2000 bond will be taken on pick-up of the vehicle. This bond will be fully refunded provided the vehicle is returned in a reasonably clean condition, without damage or involvement in an accident We do not deduct the bond from the credit card at the start of your hire, but merely hold the authority to deduct it in the unfortunate event of an accident. The impression of your credit card covers your accident/damage bond liability plus any extra costs such as refilling fuel, cleaning, emptying of the toilet and grey water tank at the end of hire or any traffic infringements, losses or breakages and any related surcharges. A credit card imprint must be on all rental agreements and must be the credit card of the main hirer unless prior arrangements have been made.Where a credit card is not available, a cash bond will be held by Bay Campers for 21 days following the termination of the hire.
Traffic Infringements - The hirer is liable for all fines and penalties in relation to the driver's use of the vehicle or the vehicle itself incurred during the rental period plus an administration fee of NZ$25 for each infringement or penalty notice that has been redirected by Bay Campers to the hirer.
Cancellation Policy - If your confirmed booking is canceled prior to 14 days of the hire date, we will refund your deposit in full. The deposit is forfeited if bookings are cancelled within 14 days of the hire date (departure).
Road restrictions - Bay Campers vans can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well-maintained access roads.
- Bay Campers are not covered by insurance if operated on roads specified as unsuitable for campervans. These include Skippers Road (Queenstown), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook) and North of Colville Township (Coromandel). Any beach or unformed/gravel road in New Zealand. The only exceptions to this are any recognized campground access roads less than 500 meters in length or road works. All unsealed ski access roads.
OTHER CONDITIONS OF HIRE Read this carefully: The company takes no responsibility for any detention, delay, loss, damage or injury that a hirer might experience no matter how it is caused or by whom. The company’s Rental Agreement is the sole contract for hiring the vehicle, between the company and the hirer and passenger(s). No refunds are payable on accommodation, or campers not being available, where a hirer or passenger amends, cancels or seeks to vary agreements after departure. These conditions cannot be varied or altered or waived by any employee, agent or representative of the company or by anyone providing services or facilities. The company cannot be bound by any representative or statement unless it is confirmed in writing by the company’s directors or management. Extra Fees - If the toilet is not returned empty, a fee of NZ$100 will apply
- If the waste tank is not returned empty, a fee of NZ$100 will apply
- If the vehicle is not returned in a clean condition, a fee of NZ$100 will apply
- In addition to any traffic infringement fees an administration fee of NZ$50 will apply
- If the vehicle is not returned with a full tank of fuel the cost to refill plus a fee of NZ$25 will apply
